Hello, my name is Paul Harris and I'm a consultant plastic surgeon based in central London, specialising predominantly in breast and some abdominal surgery. I trained mostly in London in many of the major teaching hospitals and was appointed a consultant in the National Health Service at the prestigious Royal Marsden Hospital in 2004. I left the NHS in 2017 to focus on my own practice and dedicate more time to my patients. I now work with a team of specialised nurses and admin staff at the London Clinic in the medical district of Marylebone. We focus on providing the highest quality care available, particularly in aesthetic and reconstructive breast surgery. Although by far the majority of my work is aesthetic breast related, I believe that the skills learned during my reconstructive background allow me to provide a comprehensive, high-level service to all patients. Alongside patient care, I have worked hard in research and in trying to drive a safety agenda in UK plastic surgery. To this end, I continue to lecture both nationally and internationally. I've also been involved in the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons for over 10 years, which culminated in me becoming the president from 2018 to 2020. Away from work, I am married to another doctor, having met at medical school, and we have three children who are all around the university stages of their lives. I come from Chester, a relatively small city in the northwest of England, from a very aspirational family with a good work ethic and a strong moral code. My mother was a nurse and my father worked in engineering, and I have been lucky to inherit qualities from both. I like to think that the engineering background of my father is really applicable in plastic surgery, which involves spatial appreciation of 3D space and how different structures relate to one another. And I hope that I've been able to combine this with the caring qualities of my mother to genuinely treat patients with respect and to always act in their best interests.
